Henry Mills

Episode 4.11 – 5.16

Prison Chaplain

Before entering Larkhall, Rev. Henry Mills was a chaplain in the Army. He joined the prison force after the death of his wife, Joyce. Henry has everything you’d want in a prison chaplain: kind, sensitive and compassionate, Henry has a genuine care for the inmates and wants to do more than offer them some kind of religious salvation. Unfortunately for Henry though, the violent women in Larkhall are harder to handle than a few squaddies in the Army.

Henry’s genuine care for the women is tested – he needs to learn that he’ll simply be regarded as another screw if he can’t respect inmate confidence. Whatever it was that Henry was doing, however, seemed to work for Barbara Hunt – they are both married now and hopefully living happily ever after!
